THE MERCHANDISE BUILDING

A LANDMARK CONVERSION

The Merchandise Building is one of Toronto’s largest (one million square feet), and earliest residential loft conversion projects. The massive, 13 storey industrial building, completed in stages between 1910-1949, housed the Sears Department Store warehouse. When it went to market it had, because of its size, the largest selling environment in North America, with 5 fully-decorated model suites created by five of the city’s leading interior designers. The project won numerous international, and national branding, marketing, and advertising awards, and the project’s 500+ suites sold out in record time.
